Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced today the addition of attorney Marlan D. Walker to the firm’s internationally-recognized Intellectual Property Department on the Health & Life Sciences Team. Mr. Walker joins Kilpatrick Townsend’s Walnut Creek office as Counsel.

Mr. Walker joins the firm after serving as corporate intellectual property counsel for Medicis Pharmaceutical Corp., which was acquired by Valeant Pharmaceutical International, Inc. in December 2012. Prior to that he was an attorney with a California law firm, where he worked with clients in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries. Mr. Walker’s practice focuses on patent, trademark, and copyright portfolio strategy and management in the life sciences industry, including patent prosecution and IP transactional work.

Mr. Walker earned his J.D. from Arizona State University Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law and his LL.M. in intellectual property law, with highest honors, from The George Washington University Law School. He received his B.S. in Zoology and his M.S. in Molecular Biology from Brigham Young University.
